Archived: IMPORTANT NEWS 11/03/2012. Posted by Admin.
So an unfortunate thing happened about a week ago; the entire music page of the site was lost, meaning I've had to start from scratch rebuilding it. The positive outcome is, I've been able to make some changes to the page which I've wanted to do for some time now. From now on, all songs will be organized under either albums OR collections based on the original source of the song (e.g.; Good News Week, The Sideshow, etc.) if they don't belong to an album.

This means there'll be no more doubling up of songs under 'Complete Albums' and 'Individual Songs' as there was before. However don't worry; I've also left the option to download only a couple of songs from an album, if you don't need them all. I've also gone through, re-uploading all the songs and corrected all the .mp3 tags, to fit with this new system. This will also be easier for me to maintain and add new songs, as well as being a better way of bringing similar songs together, as opposed to scattered randomly under one collection with the old system.

24.08.12: So it's official; this site is now roughly one year old! Huge thanks to everyone who has sent something in and shared the site! I've also added a forum to site; head over if you've got something to share!

25.04.12: Some more minor changes in the overall look, including a new, simpler uploading form. Also Internet Explorer still displays certain elements of this site incorrectly, so switch your web browser to Firefox or Chrome if you haven't already.

20.11.11: Check out the new search bar with quick links on the music page. I've also carried out some minor changes in website looks, so it all looks more streamlined now. Also the upload policy has been updated, visit the link at music page to view.

16.09.11: Doug Anthony All Stars page is now live! It features a biography, an image gallery and a discography with links to buy or download all the albums. Lyrics and reviews coming soon!

29.08.11: Submission box is now up and ready to use! Head over to the 'Submit Music' page to send in a song to help the database grow.

25.08.11: Song lyrics are now up for all songs!

24.08.11: Site is now live, with 23 songs in the database and the forum up and running. Working on getting a drop-box.

ABOUT THE SITE

Firstly; this site is not associated with the Australian comedian, TV personality and musician Paul McDermott in any way. You can find those sites here and here. However, as much of his music has never seen an official release in any form and much is currently out of print, the aim here is to spread his music which has been featured on shows such as Good News Week, The Sideshow and The Comedy Festival as well as Paul's work with DAAS and GUD, alongside any other performances he may have done.

Here's the concept; if you have a better quality copy of any of the songs on here, more information about a song, lyrics or perhaps something which hasn't been uploaded yet, then send it in. The aim is create a near as complete collection of Paul's music as possible, with the best quality versions to be found on the web.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or comments. Now, all that remains is to head to the music page to enter into the weird and wonderful world of Paul McDermott. . .

VIDEOS

Stairwell Songs
Paul McDermott and Steven Gates dropped by the backstage stairwell at City Recital Hall in Sydney to give us a taste of McDermott's 'Stone Crows' ahead of a show in 2019.
SLOW RIDE
A new original song written by Paul and the team, this was a performance in a car park around midnight, during the Adelaide Fringe Festival run of 'Paul Sings' in 2013.
PAUL SINGS
During the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2012, three shows titled 'Paul Sings' were announced. It was a mixture of comedy and music, however music was the main focus, drawing on an extensive back catalogue from Good News Week, GUD, DAAS - and some rarities which hadn't been heard in some time.

I was fortunate enough to attend the first evening and present my own recording of the night for those who couldn't be there.

Paul went on to tour the show as part of the MICF in 2013.
THE DARKNESS
Although musical numbers became less of a regular event in Good News Week over the years, this performance on a Comedy Festival Special once again proved that Paul's still got it.
TRANSCENDENCE
A moving and sensitive tribute to a friend; and one of Paul's slower ballads, it's been a fan favourite ever since it was first performed on The Sideshow in 2007.
